Рођен је 5. фебруара 1960. године у Чачку. Држављанин је Републике Србије, а по националности je Србин православне вероисповести. Ожењен је и отац двоје деце.

Школска спрема:

Основну школу је завршио у Прислоници и Прељини, а гимназију у Горњем Милановцу. Дипломирао је на Агрономском факултету у Чачку 1983., а магистрирао на Пољопривредном факултету у Сарајеву 1987. године. Докторску дисертацију је одбранио 1992. године на Пољопривредном факултету у Новом Саду.

Запослење:

Засновао је радни однос на Агрономском факултету 23. октобра 1984. године на радно место и у звању асистента-приправника стекавши до данас сва звања на Факултету. Редовни је професор за ужу научну област Воћарство од 2003. године.

Научна делатност:

Објавио је као аутор или коаутор 201 библиографску јединицу. Аутор је једног уџбеника, аутор и коаутор четири научне монографије, од којих је једна на енглеском језику и са међународном рецензијом.
Био је ментор или члан Комисија за одбрану преко 70 Дипломских, 6 Специјалистичких и 7 Магистарских радова. Ментор је једне Докторске дисертације.
Редовни је члан ISHS (International Society for Horticultural Science) - секција Pome and Stone Fruit.
Коаутор је сорте кајсије ‘Александар'.
Учествовао је као истраживач у реализацији научно-истраживачких пројеката одобрених од стране Министарства науке и технолошког развоја Републике Србије као и једног међународног (FAO & IBPGR).
Био је руководилац научно-истраживачког пројекта под називом "Унапређење технологије гајења кајсије" (ТР 20099) које финансира МНТР Републике Србије у периоду 2008-2010, а сада је учесник у реализацији Пројекта ТР 31064 за период 2011-2014. година.

Био је продекан за наставу и научно-истраживачки рад у периоду од 1996-1998. године, члан Стручних већа Универзитета у Крагујевцу од 2002-2006. i 2010. године и председник Савета факултета од 2002-2004.
